Neverwinter Nights 2 UI Mods

So, I’ve made a couple of Neverwinter Nights 2 UI mods utilizing their xml system.

Each one I’ve written will be displayed both here and on nwvault. Sometimes nwvault takes a day or so to post new submissions, so I will host the files on this server until nwvault approves my submission. Basically, to stay on top of all my NWN2 UI mods, bookmark this page. I’ll also be taking requests on this page, so if you have any ideas, let me know by posting a comment below.

My Neverwinter Nights 2 UI Mods:

Multirow Hotbars

Vertical Hotbar

Draggable Partybars (used to be Left Side Partbar)

Tiny Spellbook

Tiny Inventory

Good stuff! Personally, I’d *love* smaller portrait pics, they look bloated to me.

Sure, I can work on that.

[…] Slates UI Mods here. WoW Style camera controls here or here. How to “De-Level” and re-roll your character here. Black chat box problem FIX here. How to play the official campaign without using henchmen (sorta) here. UI changes to the text box here. Gamecopy world has several NO DVD patches here. *Note I do NOT condone piracy, but you have the right to play the game you paid for as you see fit and using a no dvd patch is not piracy anyway. The “reloaded” patch seems to be the one of choice. No or little delay right context menu display Go into Game Options | Gameplay/Audio and change the Context Menu Delay down to 0.10. After adjusting to the lowest setting, it’s a much more enjoyable UI and overall experience with the game.   […]

I love the miltirow hotbar.

Do you think it would be possible to turn the hotbar into columns instead of rows? Got a wide screen monitor so I got a lot more space to store it if I could move it to one side … :)
Anyway, thanks for the wonderful mods … :)

Technically, yes, they can be made vertical. However, I don’t think it is a good idea at this point in time. You would lose ALL of the shortcut keys available to you, except for the ones at the top (which would be only 2 in a 2-column layout).

If people REALLY want it, I can whip one up tomorrow.

Ah, so a vertical bar would technicaly still be horisontal with fewer colums and more rows while the hotkeys would still bind to the top row?

I was hoping for a way to flip it so the first row would become the first column instead, keeping the hotkeys working … Well, if it cant be done it cant be done … :)
If you got the time over you could make a column version anyway, might want to try it out just for fun … :)

I did make a vertical one this morning. I was sorta wrong about how it works. Anyways, you can see it here soon enough - had to leave this morning before I posted it here, however its awaiting approval on nwvault.

Hi,

Dragable Party Bar Left does not work on 1024×768 NWN v1.02. Looking at the Dragable Right Party Bar, there is no cross handle visible on the Dragable Left Party Bar. Maybe it is off screen? Using same .tga for both Right and Left Party Bars?

Hey slate, I’ve been doing a little bit of UI modding, mainly on the party health bars. I just made a mod called slimhealth that makes the health bars significantly thinner. I’ve also done a portrait resize, but haven’t released it yet. I was wonder if I could incorporate your draggable bars into the XML file I am going to release with your permission and giving you credit. You can e-mail me back.

Is it possible to make a mod that changes the control scheme to be similar to temple of elemental evil? I hate the follow system and having to click on each character portrait to use them. I want total control at all times.

The most annoying thing for me is adding special abilities to the hotbar. They can’t be added from the
rightclick menu, as it doesnt seem to ‘pick-up’ the icons. So this means i have to check through all my
abilities on the character page to find the ones which are activated abilities. Fixing this (allow drag’n drop
from the rightclick menu) would also meen we could put emotes in the hotbar.
