Circuit City Commits Mass Genocide
A close friend of mine who works worked, at the local Circuit City in Paramus, NJ just got laid off today. Not normally news, however, Circuit City of Paramus laid off at least 6 employees who have been with the company for at least four years; most were there for over six. Apparently this isn’t just a Paramus lay off; Circuit City is laying off people nationally. With over 620 stores, if they lay off an average of 6 people per store, we’re talking 3,720 people.
It seems as though Circuit City wants to get rid of their higher paid employees to save money. Sounds good on paper, saving money is always nice, however, they’re also losing their most knowledgeable people. This lay off will probably hurt the company more than it helps. A large portion of the people left at the Paramus store are seasonal employees and teenagers with their first job. Not exactly the ideal employees to help a blundering company.
